Our Story

Our Founder is John Fitch. John began developing his talent after joining the Navy in 1955 and enrolling in several service programs. In 1958 John received an honorable discharge and continued honing his engineering expertise for several companies including, the St. Regis Paper Company in Bucksport, Maine. He became a family man, marrying his love Nicole and raising their children. By 1986 John decided he was ready to start his engineering firm.

Launched in 1986 The Fitch Company started as an engineering consulting firm in Bangor, Maine, specializing in electrical and process control systems for the pulp and paper industry. John retired in 2003, selling the firm to long-time employee Mark Bolduc. Under Bolduc’s leadership, the firm has continued to thrive and expand into other industries. Today, The Fitch Company operates with a close-knit team of 30 employees and three offices in Bangor, Gray, and Rumford, Maine. The Rumford facility includes a UL Listed control panel fabrication facility. Today The Fitch Company is recognized for its expertise in retrofit upgrades, and new process systems with an impressive portfolio of services offered across different applications and industries.
